So I totally got to see the movie this blog post is titled after on launch day. Which was yesterday. It was fun and exactly what I expected it to be.
It had some of the most gorgeous special effects I have ever seen in any film ever, and all of the fight scenes were so much fun to see play out on the big screen. Everything else about it played exactly by Marvel's "book" for superhero films - origin stories in particular. It was hard to care about anyone other than two, maybe three, of the characters - and none of them were the bad guys. The bad guys were basically textbook "bad guys doing bad things but they're convinced they're doing the right thing because of course they are." (really though, Loki and Zemo are the only particularly interesting MCU villains so far, and that's kinda sad) I'm not going to go particularly deep into reviewing the film right now, or probably ever, but it does still open a ton of doors for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe - but as its own thing, it was simply a beautiful rollercoaster. Not a particularly engaging story. I mean, of course, there might be cases where people were introduced to the MCU with this film, but I personally consider Ant-Man or Captain America: The First Avenger as the best points of entry right now. *insert blog post about something or other here*
Also I like literally just created this website, so. Uh. Hi, probably nobody of importance (or anyone at all), this is just a quick test post YAAAY WEEBLY
